All great ideas and solutions start with a light bulb going off in an enthusiasts head. But not all brilliant ideas are destined to be commercial successes...

Jacob remembers attending to his first client, Sandra Owen - Anesthetic Group

In 1994 Jacob Ohlson decided to start his own I T company after seeing potential business opportunities from his current employer. Jacob saw an unclaimed yet promising niche in the computer industry that his employers failed to see. Though young, inexperienced and without capital, he took the leap of faith and started his own company specializing in corporate I T solutions.

It was his eagerness to learn and his willingness to satisfy each customer that the business quickly landed major client deals with some of the most reputable companies in Australia.

By 2000, Jacob had grown the business so quickly that constant hiring and expansion was needed to accommodate the growing demand from existing and new customers.

One of the most enduring qualities of Jacob Ohlson, founder of PowerNET, is his innate ability to reinvent himself and his company. It is not so much a talent as it is an ingrained aspect of his personality. Many entrepreneurs start their own companies after seeing potential business opportunities from their employers.

"Whether you think you can or think you can't - you are right."
– Jacob Ohlson

Today PowerNET Computer Consultants has over 700 loyal corporate clients and growing. “Although the I T competitive market is tough there is less to fear from outside competition than from inside inefficiency, discourtesy and bad service.”

As for the future, Jacob says when you have a "fresh" idea and the desire to succeed; the future is limited only by your ability to manage your company’s growth.
